CNRL Library Innovation Studio - Home Workshops
As so many people are spending more time at home, the CNRL Library Innovation Studio has launched a series of Home Workshops to add some science fun to your day, with cooking, gardening, music and more!
New videos are added every week, so check back often or subscribe to one of our Social Media channels above.
The Studio Makerspace
The CNRL Library Innovation Studio is a free Makerspace and Digital Learning space located upstairs at Tamworth City Library, with outreach services to CNRL library branches and The Youthie.
We offer the public the opportunity to take their projects and education to the next level using our expertise and equipment, whether you need to use a Laser Cutter, 3D Printer, learn to build, code and operate robots, design a Virtual Reality world, use our sewing machines, green screens, microscopes or rapid-prototype something out of cardboard for 3D Scanning and Printing.
The possibilities are endless for your work portfolio, art project, high school project or business concept! Drop in and see us during our opening hours, or book an induction session to use our specialised equipment.
Childrens Workshops
The CNRL Library Innovation Studio runs a wide variety of hands-on learning workshops for school and homeschool groups that cover STEM/STEAM subjects (Science, Technology, Engineering, Arts, Mathematics) with a focus on children learning by throwing themselves into solving a problem by trying, failing, learning, trying again and succeeding - building vital practical technology skills and a can-do attitude.
You can arrange for us to visit your school, or for your school to visit us at Tamworth Library - make a day of it with art workshops and tours of the Gallery and Library!
Contact us now for more details and to make a booking.
After-School Clubs
During term-time the CNRL Library Innovation Studio holds after-school clubs every week teaching coding and robotics through project-based learning over a number of school terms. Places are limited, so we have also created a casual drop-in "Cardboard Robot Theatre Project" where anyone can contribute to building costumes, sets, music, robots, storylines, coding and more whether you can turn up once a week, once a month - or just once!
